Hello and welcome!
Thank you for your consideration of my application for the SBS/Van Alen Community Fellows program. Below you will find examples of designs I have created for Central Astoria LDC and programming I have implemented.

Steinway Street Art Walk 2025
The Art Walk was the first full-scale community coordination and placemaking project I was able to undertake at Central Astoria. Working from February through May 2025, I created a database of artists, submissions, selected works, and participating stores, all interlinked in a Notion database. Over 40 artists participated, ranging in age from 9 to 80 years old!
Additionally, I created cohesive branding specific to the Art Walk for participating stores and artists to post. I also created a map of the participating stores to hang so that visitors could find the shops and their friends or family’s artwork they came to see. We also hired Fogo Azul drumline to kick off the art walk, which coincided with the unveiling of the new asphalt art murals “Crossing Steinway, Crossing Cultures” by Vanesa Alvarez.
Over 75 pieces of art were hung in one afternoon, and visitors to the street got to enjoy the artwork donning the windows of shops. Positive feedback was received from store owners, who said they saw new foot traffic and appreciated the vibrancy the art brought to Steinway Street.
Additional photos from the event can be found here.
Graphic Design
Utilizing the colors from the 2023 website rebrand, I created a series of flyers to use in social media advertising for some of the programming we host in Astoria Park. My goal was to give Central Astoria recognizable and cohesive branding.

Keeping with the theme of cohesive branding, I chose to create recognizable flyers for the community cleanups I hosted as part of the Neighborhood 360 grant. I wanted to differentiate these cleanups from other programming we do, but keep the Central Astoria identity.
Photography
As a photographer, I believe it’s important to both document events and use that time to connect with the community. Below are some select photos I’ve shot during my time with Central Astoria. Please utilize the links below to see more.
